Solar Charger In A Pocket

by Rob on March 24, 2008

If you’re looking for a solar charger for your gear that’s easy to carry around, the Freeloader Solar Charger may be just what you’re looking for. In addition to charging its lithium battery (3.7V 1000mAh) via the sun, you can also hook it up to your computer via USB for a charge. It takes 3 to 4 hours to fully charge the Freeloader via USB and 5 to 10 hours via the sun.

Here’s a short clip showing you how the Freeloader works:

As noted in the clip, the Freeloader costs 30 pounds, which translates today into about $17,000 USD.

30 pounds = 17,000? In the future maybe, but for today, I think the figure is closer to $60.

Lisa, having vacationed with my family in London recently, it sure felt like 30 pounds = $17,000 🙂
