We watched this product on TV and were hooked so bought direct. Buyer beware: Battery last 30 minutes...bull, not if your doing yardwork; try 5-8 minutes; Lightweight...yes, but not quality plastic and actually too light and short and I'm only 5'7"; Trimmer line hangs-up too easily and thus you have to dismantle at least once per use; money-back...not so fast cause you only have 30 days and like most of us with "yardwork" that could be 1 to 4 uses before you find its a piece of crap. We tried to get our money back (stupid us, we bought the "package: trimmer/edger combo, blower and hedge trimmer)just 49 days after receipt and were stonewalled on getting our money back. They kept blamming it on a "bad battery". So just to let you guys know I'm talking with my attorney about a class action lawsuit for false advertising. They sould have given my money back....messing with the wrong person. I have a mid-six figure income but I work hard for my money. The other products need another 2-3 paragraphs....stay tuned cause I'll be posting this "issue" everywhere I can! I only gave one star because it won't let me choose none.

Very disappointed battery last 20 minutes if lucky, had to manually pull string out. This might be fine for a very small yard. I like how they say 2 football fields. The best part is how they stick it to you when you return it, $45.00 to return it for me. Thats after a 40 minute wait on the phone to get a return number and,then they tell me it will take 3 days to email they label to me. Please read the reviews before you buy one. The only good thing I could say it was light weight.

If you have a small yard with light edging, this product may be okay. We don't have a large yard, but we do have a fence in our backyard. This trimmer finishes a small amount trimming in the front but it doesn't even get 1/3 of the yard done in the back before the battery dies. With the climate where we live, we get weeds that spring up pretty quickly and this trimmer just doesn't have the oomph to get those in one pass. It takes several passes to cut some of the larger weeds. Basically, this trimmer just doesn't have the battery life or the power to do a good job. Next time, I'm going to spend more money for a more quality product.

The Worx cordless weed trimmer/edger is not effective in trimming anything much stronger than jonathan grass. It barely makes it's way though fescue, and certainly doesn't make it's way though any weeds on my property. The battery only lasts 20 minutes. The plastic protector fell off five minutes after I tried it. If you have a small bit of property and are basically cutting grass and trimming grass, this would probably be sufficient for you. It's definitely light weight and easy to start and manage. And frankly, if you have such small property, 20 minutes would probably do it for you. But if you are truly cutting weeds, this is not going to work for you. The worst part about it is customer service: EXTREMELY LONG WAIT TIMES to do returns. The times I've spent on hold are as follows: day 1 45min+, day 2: 40 min, day 3: 30 min, and after 20 minutes on day 4 I finally got a hold of someone at WORX named "kristin" who processed my return, and told me my refund would reflect on my account 24 hours after they received my return. Not so... So I called back, and didn't bother waiting past 15 minutes. But I was able to access them via their live chat on their website, where "jonathan" told me that Kristin was mistaken and that refunds took 7-10 days after the return was received. Put me on internet "hold" for a few minutes to research it and said my return would reflect on my account in 3-5 business days. Not worth it guys! Buy another product!!!

These tools are awesome!! I have the combo set of edger/trimmer, hedge trimmer and blower sweeper. I also have the lithium battery. Like one of the other reviews says, if you read the instructions, These work perfect. And, if your weeding tall weeds in a heavy thick area, this is not the tool. My big craftsman trimmer will cut anything down, but pulling it 10 times to start, waiting for it to warm up, replacing the line and carrying it around doing yard work was back breaking. If you looking a for easy to use! Light weight! and, keep you keep up on your yard work on a consistent basis, these are the best yard tools I have owned. As another review said, it you just let go of the power, the line feeds itself perfectly! I would suggest getting two batteries. I trim the yard, charge with the 30 min charger, mow the lawn and then it is ready to go for the blower. Is awesome! Also, I am 6'2". I would like the edger/trimmer to be a little taller, but it sure beats carrying around my big craftsman gas edger. Also, forget about shoulder problems trying to start the gas trimmers. Just plug in and go. Forget about getting gas, buying mixing oil, no need anymore. All I have to buy is line. I spent $270 for the set above, they are a excellent value. In addition, can put a price on helping shoulder and back last longer. No, I do not work for Worx, I just like to tell people about when it works!! (I am in sales and could sell this product any day)

WORX GT WG151 18-Volt Cordless Electric Lithium-Ion String Trimmer/Edger This trimmer is great, but the battery does not stay charged as long as claimed, though it does recharge in half an hour, which is great. However, if you were to take the word of he manufacturere, that you edge a whole football field, on a charge, it would have to be a very small field.

Overall I'm satisfied with the purchase, but disappointed with the battery that came with trimmer. I get a bad battery signal in the charger after less than 6 months and had to get another battery. I'm happy with the trimmer, though.

I have used this product twice. It works well and the battery charging is fast. The edger function did not work well for me. It could be the type of grass in my lawn. Overall a good product and very ergonomic.

We are very satisfied with this little trimer.My wife & I are in our late 60's so it is difficult to handle the bigger weedeaters.This little outfit is light wt.& dose a good job on grass and a fare job on the edgeing part.We were amazed at how long the battery lasted.My brother has a 150 so I can say with confidence the 151 is the best buy!! I bought the WORX Trimmer and Blower along with one backup 18V battery on April 18, 2010. The Trimmer and Blower worked great !!! I couldn't ask for more. Well, yes I could...I could ask for batteries that actually maintained their charge. It is now July 26, 2010. Both batteries that I bought...and have used for all of the three months...have both gone bad. One won't even charge and the other, upon charging, gives about 2 - 3 minutes of battery life. I have called the WORX Customer Helpline and (even though getting through took between 10 and 20 minutes) they have agreed to replace the original batteries free of charge (so they say). Perhaps my charger is bad...but I am leaving nothing to chance and ordered another battery...just in case. The WORX units (Trimmer and Blower) are GREAT !!! Very versatile, lightweight and do everything you want them to do. My only gripe is with the batteries...watch out there...they are made in (mainland) China.

A bit disappointed in the quality of this trimmer; does not feel sturdy and the weight is not balanced well. I also have an Echo gas pole trimmer with a telescoping pole with reach up to 21 ft. that is substantial in weight, but well-balanced and rock-solid. Bought this one to be used on light-weight work on smaller shrubs and be able to work standing up versus bent over using a Mantis gas trimmer that has been great, but gets heavy after awhile. I like the ease of the pivot adjustment and is a snap to take apart for storage. The charger provided should have been the type that can be wall-mounted; this has to be laid on top of a flat surface. This trimmer is good for light work, but leave the heavy thick shrubs to gas trimmers.

I have owned a gas powered trimmer for almost 20 years. I bought this product to use on some tall shrubs as the gas trimmer gets heavy after holding it over your head for extended periods of time. I have to say I was a little disappointed the first time I used it - I was accustomed to the more powerful gas trimmer and the NPT would not go through the thicker growth. But after using the NPT a few more times, and realizing that it worked best on new growth, I liked it more and more. The pivoting head was a brilliant idea - no more bending down to trim ivy and my other ground cover, and no more suffocating in the exhaust of the gas trimmer. I think it's a great product. I'm 5'6", and I can reach almost 8 feet with it.

This is generally a good product. I really enjoy not having to use gasoline or an electrical cord. Product does a better job of trimming than I expected.Battery charge lasts long enough to do consideralbe work. It is a bit heavy and can be tiresome when trimming higher branches. Also, a little additional lenght would be useful. Perhaps another 12 inches or so.

This Cordless Electric Pole Hedge Trimmer is terrific! We were looking for a lightweight, strong cordless hedge trimmer. We have used it to trim scrub pines in front of our home as well as traditional hedges. It truly cuts up to 1/2" branches and new growth easily. Lightweight and well balanced. It is a very well made, versatile product. Battery ran for nearly and hour of constant use and charged quickly. Great value for the money!

This product is very handy to reach high areas on hedges and tough places to reach. It works as well as any battery powered tool but does not have the power of a gas or electric trimmer. I am well satisfied.

Black & Decker NHT518-1 18-Volt 22-Inch Cordless Electric Hedge Trimmer This unit has several outstanding features not readily apparent from the ad. Its utility is increased by the wider space between the teeth allowing it to cut larger shoots and the power of its motor allows it to make these cuts without jamming. The more obvious advantages are no power cord to accidentally cut or get caught on the hedge allowing a much shorter completion time. I would estimate that it took about 3/4 as long to do my front hedges as with my old corded hedge clipper - and I didn't need my hand clipper. Finally, since I also have the B&D Aligator lopper and pole saw which use the same 18v battery, 3 batteries gives me maximum versatility.

This product is tops for my purposes. Plenty of power and battery time. It is easy to use and it sure is nice not fighting the electric cord.

Our home is surrounded 360 degrees by landscaping which requires trimming / pruning. I've always used a corded electric trimmer. I've been wanting to get a cordless so I finally bought this one. The price was good beating all the box stores I checked including WalMart. I have now used this tool several times. The bar length is good and combined with the dual cutting action has greatly reduced the time and energy I've needed to do my trimming. Weight is no problem and shaking or vibration I have experienced with other corded trimmers is not present. Battery charge is also more than ample, although it is brand new, but so far no issues. I like it and would recommend it to anyone who does more than just little to no trimming.

A real piece of junk. Used maybe 3- 4 times, no problem. Until today it started smoking like a BBQ, with that distinct electrical equip. burning smell. Of course after 98 days I am SOL and just out my $85.Avoid this!!

It is just the beginning of the season and it is working so we shall see. Dependability is what I look for in a garden tool. I especially like the feature that allows the blades to start up again should my hand slip off the power trigger for an instant [I don't have to stop and engage the safety buttons to restart].

Worked great out of the box. Always seems to start, but not until the 5th pull. Having some trouble with the string auto feed, but do not let this be a deterrent to purchase. I own both the Lehr and the craftsman models and use the attachments on both

Good points: Long shaft gives good reach, and helps tall gents like myself avoid stooping. Use of propane means you don't have to worry about the carb getting gunky. Needs improvement: 1) Tool must be stored horizontally with the engine upright, or oil will leak into the cylinder and make the tool hard to start/smoke, etc. 2) Oil drips from the air intake after every use--not sure if this is to be expected or not. 3) Tool is noticeably heavier than a comparable gas driven tool. Seems dinosaurlike in the clumsiness of its execution. 4) Tool loses power as you reach the end of your propane (low pressure in bottle=low engine power). 5) Pricey--comparable to the cost of a Stihl or Echo without the bulletproof reputation. Cost of operation isn't cheap either, unless you tart filling your own propane bottles. 6) Heats up. Basically, it works like a conventional 4 cycle engine, with a oil reservoir that should stay at the bottom of the engine. If you edge, or use the tool turned sideways for long periods of time, it won't lubricate properly, and could cause damage to the engine. 7) Bump head is a pain. I know how to use and load bump-heads. This one is the most painful to use that I have ever encountered. You would think the string trimming industry would have this part of the tool down to an art by now. Guess not. Overall--not horrible, but disappointing.

I received my trimmer on June 3, 2010. This is my first power trimmer. I just use a corded electric at home. After making sure it ran at home I headed out to Paint Creek State Park where I do mountain bike trail maintenance. I already knew from reading other reviews not to add the whole 2.5 ounce bottle of oil as the trimmer only needs 1.7 ounces. The motor has to remain level so the oil circulates. So the trimmer's detachable shaft has two positions: horizontal for regular trimming and vertical for edging. Definitely get the detachable model so you can put the shaft in the vertical position. I wasn't worried about scalping the ground because I was just out in the woods clearing away vegetation from the single track trail. Definitely wear the padded shoulder strap so your shoulder bears most of the weight. That way all you have to do is sway your hips to get a nice back and forth motion. Man did that baby take out the vegetation in the vertical position. The horizontal position was much slower and I didn't want to exert effort trying to angle the string toward the ground to be more effective. I was also afraid angling it might impead oil circulation since the motor would be angled instead of level. Even pencil sized samplings were reduced to less than six inch nubs. Once in awhile I'd knock off one of the dual strings. So I'd have to stop, unscrew the bump feed button and rethread the knocked off string. I didn't need an allen wrench to change the string. They must've improved the model to eliminate this. During an hour of trimming I had to refeed a knocked off string 3 times. I was screwing the bump feed button down hard each time but the last time I did it I figured I really didn't need to screw it down so hard. You're not using a screw drive, just tightening it with your right hand as you hold the upper part with your left hand. It makes no sense to unscrew the whole thing from the shaft. Not screwing it down hard was a mistake. I didn't know I was near the end of the line and bumped it a few times against the nearest tree trunk. I'd been doing this all along since the shaft was in the vertical position. I shut the unit down a minute or two later. At that point I noticed that the bump feed button was missing. The spool and spring were still attached so the bump feed button must've just unscrewed and fallen off. I called the toll free warranty number the next day and he said he'd send a replacement out right away. I already went to the web site and discovered that replacement parts and accessories were `coming soon'. Otherwise I would've just ordered off the web site. Five feet of string is all you can comfortably wind onto each spool. That's five feet on the top spool and five feet on the bottom spool. Getting the string to go into the little notches was a struggle. Once you feed each string through each hole just tug hard enough to get each string out of it's notch. I doubt if it would ever come out by itself. When I got home I checked the oil and it was near the bottom mark. So I figure you'll need to add oil at least every time you put in a new propane cylinder, if not sooner. The manual says to check the oil often. I moved from Farmingon Hills MI to Hillsboro OH and I've changed my address with Amazon. So I don't know why it still says Farmington Hills.

Still love it after one year... no winterizing or methanol gas rubber rot worries. Starts every time.

this is my 4th trimmer. I've had corded electric, cordless electric and gas before. This is the best one so far. Lot's of power and clean burning. Read the instructions. I had trouble getting the propane strap to latch, but then saw the note on the box explaining how to do it. Starts with one or two pulls. Works with my Craftsman brush cutter attachment. Quiet at idle, but about the same as gas at full throttle. It is long and heavy, but feels well built. Hopefully they will work on the ergonomics, but I am very satisfied with it.
