PLX Kiwi

The PLX Kiwi is a new device that helps you reduce your impact on the environment by reducing the amount of fuel you use. With summer quickly approaching and gas prices already on the rise, this fun savvy little device will help you maximize your fuel and save you money. The Kiwi monitors driving habits over four parameters: smoothness, drag, acceleration, and deceleration. It calculate efficiency over these four parameters and provides you with instant feedback on how to increase your fuel efficiency. The device is easy to use, easy to install and can save you hundreds of dollars.

How It Works
When we drive we usually aren't thinking about how many times we accelerate, hit the breaks or even exceed the speed limit. Most of us are too busy to worry about how all these things burn up gas and essentially waste gas. The Kiwi is designed to calculate your vehicles fuel efficiency, save gas, and reduce CO2 output. Kiwi's sophisticated mathematic algorithms will figure it out for you and report back with tips on how to not waste your costly fuel. Using Kiwi is actually more like playing a game with the goal of getting the highest Kiwi score possible. Your score will fall between 1-100 and the higher your score the less fuel you are using which means the less money you are spending.

green-mode"Drive Green" Mode
The Drive Green Mode is designed to teach you how to maximize your fuel efficiency by changing your driving behavior. The Kiwi analyzes your driving habits and the performance of your engine. The device will calculate your smoothness, drag, acceleration, and deceleration parameters and actually teach you how to improve your fuel economy. The Kiwi's display provides great detail by showing current and trip MPG values, distance traveled, and gallons of gas used. It also shows the amount of gas that has been saved and used in dollars throughout the life of the unit. The trip summary feature will show you the same information for every trip. You can also view your average Kiwi score and MPG, along with distance traveled and gallons used per trip.

Real-Time Engine Data
The PLX Kiwi can also be used as a diagnostic scanning tool. It can help you identify why the check engine light comes on and is capable of reporting engine sensor information such as:

  • Throttle Position
  • Intake Pressure (MAP)
  • OBD Type
  • Fuel Level
  • RPM
  • Air Flow (MAF)
  • Barometric Pressure
  • MPH
  • Catalytic Converter Temperature
  • Engine Load
  • ECU Voltage
  • Engine Timing
  • Absolute Engine Load
  • Air Intake Temperature
  • Ambient Air Temperature
  • Water Temperature
  • Fuel Pressure
  • Fuel Pressure Relative
  • Oxygen Sensor Voltage1 (Bank 1)
  • Short Term Fuel Trim (Bank 1)
  • Long Term Fuel Trim (Bank 1)

  • Easy Installation
The Kiwi does not require professional installation and it is compatible with any vehicle from 1996 or newer. You simply plug it into the on-board diagnostic port (OBD II) that is usually located near the steering column. With the device you receive mounting brackets so the Kiwi can be placed on the dashboard or windshield.

    Summary
The Kiwi can help you save on your fuel consumption by 33% which can add up to hundreds of dollars a year. It will also help you reduce your carbon footprint by 2 tons a year which is equivalent to 80 trees. The Kiwi makes saving gas fun and at the same time it helps our environment. The PLX Kiwi isn't necessarily cheap with a price of just under $300 on Amazon, but it will surely pay itself off with what you will be saving in gas.
