Window air conditions and space heaters can add welcome comfort to our homes. But these units have two really big problems. First, they aren't very efficient in many cases, costing a lot of money in wasted energy. And second, controlling the temperature with these portable units can be really difficult. The WIN100 programmable outlet thermostat can help to solve both of these problems with one low cost gadget.

So here's how the programmable outlet thermstat works. Simply set the desired temperature much like you would set a programmable thermostat. With this feature, for example, you can set the space heater to warm up a room when you wake up or return home from work. The WIN100 can be set for anywhere between 45 and 90 degrees. And it doesn't have to be plugged in to be programmed, which makes setting the desired temperature a lot easier. Once set, simply plug it in and plug your air conditioner or space heater into the programmable outlet.

Reviews

Simple timer for temperature control that allows you to regulate when you use a heater or A/C. I used it for an Eco heater and it works great.

It was exactly what I was looking for - something to make sure it didn't get too cold in my baby's room at night. I hooked it up to a steam humidifier (could do space heater, too) and it worked surprisingly well. The only other option would have been to keep the whole house at a certain temperature (expensive) or use a timer (a crapshoot). If you keep the temperature probe away from walls and windows (which may stay colder than the room air), it works very well.

This product is really a blessing. I have 2 space heater. Before buying this product I had both heaters on. The problem was that in the middle of night I woke up full of sweet, because there was not a way to stop one of the heaters when the room temprature became hot while I was asleep. After I purchased this product, I set the device to 73 f and connected one of the heaters to it . Now when both heaters are working when the room temprature reaches to 73 degrees F , the device shuts off the heater that is connected to it, and therfore the room temprature does not increase over the set temprature. This device pays for itself , since I do not pay for the electricity and heat that I do not need, and more important it keeps me healty, not waking in the middle of night from too much heat, so I can sleep with peace. I highly recommend this product.

Works like a charm- only works above 45 degrees if that would be a problem

This item works just as I expected. I use it to control a torpedo heater in my garage. I especially like the fact that it also tells you the current room temp.
