WIN100 Programmable Outlet Thermostat
So here's how the programmable outlet thermstat works. Simply set the desired temperature much like you would set a programmable thermostat. With this feature, for example, you can set the space heater to warm up a room when you wake up or return home from work. The WIN100 can be set for anywhere between 45 and 90 degrees. And it doesn't have to be plugged in to be programmed, which makes setting the desired temperature a lot easier. Once set, simply plug it in and plug your air conditioner or space heater into the programmable outlet.

Reviews
I use this to control the temperature in my fermentation box. Works really well to control heating pads in the winter and refrigeration in the summer. I saw another post about the temperature differential not working. That may be true, I can't really tell, but it doesn't affect my application.
Used it to replace the faulty switch on my attic fan. So far , so Good. Working well!
I bought the WIN100 Heating & Cooling Programmable Outlet Thermostat to use with my cheap window A/C that has manual controls. It won't work with units that have electronic controls unless the unit can be set up to come on when plugged in, because this thermostat effectively unplugs the device to turn it off and plugs it back in to turn it on. (For example, my big window air conditioner has electronic controls that go into standby when plugged in, waiting for input from the remote or front panel buttons, so this thermostat could not turn it on.) There are 4 programs for weekend (Sat/Sun, no choice) and 4 other programs for weekdays (Mon-Fri, no choice). (You also set the time of day and day of the week, so you could deliberately set the day or time different from reality to accomodate special programming needs.) Each program is a temperature setpoint and time of day at which it becomes effective. There is also a temporary override that lets you set a different temperature, which remains in effect until the time of the next program, at which point the program takes over. Unfortunately, you have to flip open the cover on the front of the unit to access the override (and other controls), which requires unplugging the bulky plug of the air conditioner. The unit can be (manually) set to operate either heating or cooling appliances. I have not yet tried a heater, so can't comment on how it works. As long as your unit will come on when power is applied to its plug, this thermostat will control it nicely.
No surprises here. This thermostat works just as promised. It has great adjustability including the swing in temperature between cycling your air conditioner on and off. I totally recommend it.
I like the idea of these thermostats, we do not have central air and have four window units in our northern home, which we get by with. The thermostats (I have four of them) have a tempeture differential adjustment of 1 to 9 degrees. Guess what, it does not work on any of the four units, so with a 1 degree set (it dosen't change even when you put on 9 degrees) are snapping on and off all the time. This is not so much of a problem during the day, but at night in bedrooms it is a problem. To bad all these units have the flaw, they are a good idea. Rich, up north for the summer.
