Three listed features caught my attention and I ended up ordering one test sample before wasting a lot of money (again) on bulbs that don't live up to the description. They say: "... put out a beautiful almost true white light." - Truth is that it's almost "true white light" but that's nowhere close to 3000K or warm light as the title says. It's not as brutal as some of the Cool White bulbs, but a stark contrast from even the Reveal Halogen bulbs. They say: "Works well dimmer switches ..." - Truth is that it doesn't work at all with my variety of electronic dimmer switches. Works well sure doesn't mean dimmable (as they're not), but one would expect that "works well" doesn't raise the same fundamental problems as most other LED lights. Namely, if only LED lights are in the same circuit with my electronic dimmers they mess with the electronics and cause the switch to never really turn off. (Add a incandescent or CFL bulb to the circuit and at least it turns on an off.) The other dimmer (semi-electronic with a hard on-off switch) naturally turn off, but is very iffy to get the light to turn on properly. They say: "similar to 20-30W halogen bulb" - Truth is that it's more directed, and in the very center one might have the illusion of them being similar or even brighter. However, for lighting purposes there is much less total output and it feels much darker than a half-dimmed 50W halogen bulb. Accent lights only, of you could compensate with at least doubling your light fixtures. Essentially, it's not living up to the optimistic description. Unfortunately, most bulbs currently in the market don't and there may be a lot of peer pressure to fluff specs up a bit. Nevertheless, affordable LED technology has yet to catch up with the promise.
This product is not bad for the price. It is not very bright so do not expect anything too bright.
I purchased 36 flood lamp bulbs for one of my offices. 14 bulbs failed within 3 weeks. The remaining bulbs lost their light quality within a few weeks, and I was forced to replace them. Neither the manufacturer nor Amazon were willing to refund my money. Under no circumstance do I suggest anyone either purchase these bulbs or deal with this seller!
I have to agree with those who've found the bulb does not live up to the glowing, green promises of a long-lived economical bulb. I bought two at COSTCO and got a letter from COSTCO a month or so later warning that the manufacturer had changed its guarantee about hours of use. [My COSTCO doesn't have them any longer] As I'd already tossed my receipt and the bulbs seemed to be working for me, I decided to keep them. One is actually still working more than 6 months later over my stairs where it's on about 5 hours a night. The other one did what others have complained about - half the LEDs started flashing, making it impossible to use. I didn't keep it in long enough to see how long before it went dead.
I bought 1 to test since a different type w/o the protective outer cover caused moisture from teh kitchen & bathroom to short out 2 bulbs. it has worked beautifully thus I bought another one. It may be age or something else but both bulbs are different lumination tones. The first one is sort of an amber like off white & the new one is ice lightening white. Not quite sure what exactly to make of that but I must say that these suckers do in fact work. I just got 2 more in the mail for the kitchen & can't wait to screw them in! The electric bill has dropped so much that it wouldn't surprise me if it costs the electric company more money to process & send the monthly bill in teh mail than the amount of money they actually get from me. Lol!!!
